Ruskin is situated on the outskirts of the charming and historic market town of Kelso, home of the famous Junction Pool, which boasts some of the best salmon fishing in the world. Situated on the banks of the River Tweed, the town is protected to the north by the Lammermuir Hills and the Cheviots to the south, and lies in one of the most beautiful valleys in the country.
As a thriving market town, Kelso provides an extensive range of amenities including a variety of specialist and high street shops, a Sainsbury’s supermarket, restaurants, ice rink, swimming pool, community hospital and a medical centre.
Local tourist attractions include Floors Castle, home of the Duke of Roxburghe, Mellerstain House and Kelso Abbey. Coming from St. Boswells (off the A68) proceed down Main Street and onto the B6404 and continue on this road for several miles before turning right at the crossroads onto the B6397. Continue on for a couple of miles before reaching the t-junction.
Turn right onto the B6089 and follow the road into Kelso. Turn left at the first roundabout and pass the school and Kelso Golf Club on your left, proceed forward and turn left at the next roundabout, before taking the first right into Broomlands.
Follow this road into the development and keep going. You will eventually drop down to a cul-de-sac and you will come to Ruskin which lies on your right-hand side.
Coming from Coldstream take the A698 signposted Kelso. Follow the A698 into Kelso until you reach a roundabout at Shedden Park. Take the third exit and follow the road to the second roundabout and go straight over.
You will then reach the third roundabout, take the second exit and the first right into Broomlands and follow the above directions.
