From the North either take the A7 directly out of Edinburgh or join it from the Edinburgh City-Bypass and proceed South, passing through Newtongrange and Gorebridge. Approximately six miles on from Gorebridge, you will approach Heriot. Take a left turn before the village signposted Nettlingflat and proceed up the hill. You will reach the steading development on your left and take the last turning and follow the road in and bear left. You will approach the gated entrance into Nettlingflat Mill.
From the South take the A7 through Hawick, Selkirk and Galashiels and proceed North passing through the village of Stow. Approximately nine miles on from Stow, you will pass Heriot on your left. Immediately past the village you will take a right turn signposted Nettlingflat and proceed up the hill following the above directions.
